One of the things I loved about all of my major classes in college was the freedom. After my freshman year, I don’t think I ever took a written test again. All of my tests were projects. The freedom that came with those projects is what I loved! We were given basic guidelines with room left to explore how and what exactly we wanted to do.
I find that when I’m given too many instructions, I feel like I don’t have the freedom to explore and create. And when I feel like I can’t do that, I don’t work well. I get stuck and frustrated and never like what I come up with.
But even if the end product is super creative, that isn’t where creativity is. Creativity is always between a blank piece of paper and the final product. It’s in the process.

Isn’t it nice to know we are loved, even if we feel unloved?
Isn’t it nice to know we can be encouraged, even if we feel discouraged?
Isn’t it nice to know we can be hopeful, even if we feel hopeless?
Because “Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace.” (2 Thessalonians 2:16)
Did you catch that?
Jesus Christ [Himself]! and God our [Father]!
has given us not just encouragement, but [eternal] encouragement.
has given us [hope]!
So live this weekend full of love, encouragement and hope because [spoiler alert] God has already given them to us!! Don’t keep them to yourself.
Be [hope] for someone.
And may God continue to “encourage your hearts and strengthen you in [every] good work and word” this weekend. (2 Thessalonians 2:17)
May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word. // 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
